Not sure what to say?

Would like to hear from family and friends of either Hugh Wood Sr. Or jr.... My uncle vb82 replacement pilot ensign Jack Carl fuller flew with wood, ferry, and Sieber to help sink the IJN Yamato... My uncle didn't come back from that mission... Would love to hear more about his commander and/ or family... Thanks 612.819 4225, 320.963.3322 or [email protected]

it was by chance that i learned of kelly's death.

for years i have tried to track down hugh wood's family - the vb82 divebomber pilot and commander of cv20 bennington. you see, he along with ed sieber and fran ferry, along with my uncle, replacement pilot ensign jack carl fuller, broke from formation to attack japanese battleship yamato on 7 april 1945. they all came back but my uncle, the newly arrived replacement pilot with the squadron since 18 march 1945, did not.

Kelly will truly be missed. I always enjoyed working with him during our years at LANTDIV.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sorrow.

So sorry to hear of this. Kelly was a great colleague and good friend. I will remember the good times at ECHR and his great attitude. Bud Curtis

I enjoyed Kelly's company at many of the Febuary Engineer's Banquets during Engineer's week. He was a past president of ECHR as am I. We also worked together @ LANTDIV since 1985. He was a very dedicated engineer. I would see Kelly @ Virginia Oncology ocasionally where my wife has battled stage 4 breast cancer 4X's since 2000. Kelly was a great friend who will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to hear this news. Kelly was a wonderful person, he always thought of others first before himself. A true family man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Kelly was an amazing person. His work ethic was second to none. After seeing him balance work and adversity in recent years, he was truly an inspiration. It was an honor working with him.
