I had the honor of meeting Hulet while working at Longs. He would share his life stories with me and my son from the time he was about 8 until the last time we saw him, my son is now 25. It never matter where I would see him, he always greeted me with a wave of his hand, a great smile and big hug. He will be greatly missed and we will always consider it to have been an honor and a blessing to have known him.

Hulet was an amazing human being and quite a character! We first met him over 20 years ago in our dental office. We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet him in our lifetime. He was never afraid to tell you what was on his mind. He always had a story or a word of wisdom. He made us laugh. He spoke fondly of the family he loved dearly. He will be missed and never forgotten. Sincerely, Dr. Anthony Lizano and Cindy

Hulet was a dear friend for 30 years. I had the honor of cutting his hair and listening to his stories and words of wisdom. He was an amazing man who has impacted my life forever. I am grateful to have had him in my life.
Love and blessings to the family.
His spirit will be with us always--

He deserves gratitude from every East Bay resident for his vision and zeal in pursuing publicly accessible open space for generations to enjoy.

We are so sorry to hear - we attended church with Lawrence and Irene in Martinez before we moved to Southern California three years ago. Our thoughts and prayers go with the family. ~ Mark and Deanna Phillips
