Hunter Ray Marshall

Hunter Ray Marshall, 46, went to be with the Lord and the ones that went before him in the early morning hours of Monday, August 25, 2008, after a short but tough battle with cancer.

Ray was born July 7, 1962, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was the Service Director at Jim Price Chevrolet for 14 years.

Ray loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was dedicated to Tracey, his wife of 18 years and their 15 year old daughter, Brittany. His last two big adventures were a cruise with his wife to Costa Rica in March and a trip to Florida in July to watch his daughter fast pitch in a softball world series at Disney World.

Ray was preceded in death by his dear mother, Shirley Batten, in August 2006. He leaves to cherish his loving memory a large family and extended family that includes father and stepmother, Hunter and Leanna Marshall, step-father, Harrison Batten; siblings, David Marshall, Glenda Marshall, Becky Oakerson, and Darlene Cummings; mother and father- -in-law, John and Anne Klueg, and their families, as well as many other friends and loved ones.

He warmly touched the lives of many and the family would like to express their gratitude for the many visits, phone calls, and expressions of love and support over the past few months. We would also like to thank and express our appreciation for the medical teams of Dr. Gordon Morris, Dr. John Morris, Dr John McGovern, and the nursing staff of MJH South 7.

Everyone provided excellent loving care and support as Ray fought the great fight and we are most grateful.

The family will receive friends at Hill and Wood Funeral Home from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2008, at Maple Grove Christian Church. Interment service will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Brittany Marshall Education Trust Fund at any Wachovia Bank location.

Friends may send condolences to the family at www.hillandwood.com.

Tracy and Brittany,
Some things there are no words for. Our prayer is that you will feel God's loving arms around you.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Ray,
When I think of Jim Price I will always have my memories in Service. My buddy always took care of me and made sure I was taken care of. When i was in the hospital you made sure your good wishes were sent to me. I will miss you as a friend and my service manager. VERY Large shoes to fill.

The Marshall Family:
