Not sure what to say?

Emmett Burcham was truly a great man. I will always remember him by carrying with me the buckeye he gave me as a young boy. My favorite times spent with my grandpa was at The Old Country Buffet in Decatur. We would eat at 10:45 a.m. so that grandpa could eat breakfast and lunch in the same sitting. Every time I eat a chicken leg I will think of the 25 years I was lucky enough to him this wonderful man in my life. I love you and miss you grandpa. See you in heaven.

He was a great Grandpa..I'll never forget: Eatting at Swartz...french fries at Steak and Shake...checking the electric fences..taking food to Cocoa {the dog}..doughnuts from the Sullivan Bakery...Grandpa didn't know a stranger,,and without even knowing he was teaching..He was. He was teaching all of us how to treat one another. What a Legacy!

I am thinking of you and you are in my prayers. Emmett always had a good time at everything. Kent and I always thought he and my Dad (Harry) would have the corn field completely dug up trying to see if the corn had sprouted. He loved his family!

My greatest condolences to the family of a very nice man.

Emmett was my cousin - his father, Lewis Sylvester Burcham, was my grandfather's brother (John Francis Burcham, Jr.). We used to visit Lovington when I was a kid. I used to play with his brother's (Joeseph Burcham)children when I was young. Good memories.

Emmett was an amazing person. Always gracious, with a kind word for everyone.
