PALM CITY — The last notes of taps still lingered as two U.S. Marines performed their solemn task: With hands covered in crisp, white gloves, they slowly lifted the American flag off the casket of their fellow Marine and folded it into a triangle. Karen Zook cradled the flag as dozens of loved...

Not sure what to say?

Hello, We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this month and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Ian T. Zook US Marine Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of...

My teacher told us about how she taught Ian and told us his story. I want to thank him for his service. He was truly a hero.

I served with Ian Zook in 1/7 Animal Company 1st platoon. I spoke today at a Memorial Day event and detailed his service, his sacrifice and his amazing family. I miss him and will never forget his beautiful light. I try very hard spending every day working at life and making it good for my family and community in Ians memory, and the memory of all the brave men we have lost.

I served with Zook in 1/7... I was with the Scout Sniper Platoon... He was part of the guys who were recalled (Volunteered) to go to war. We played volley ball in Camp Telega, and drank beer together in REMOB before we were assigned to our platoons. I must apologize for my words here coming so late. I lost my wife in the war to my neighbor, and spent many years trying to forget it. But I have never forgotten your son... Proud to have known him, and proud I still have the chance to honor him....

Never had the honor of getting to meet CPL. Ian Zook....BUT he is a True American hero. May we Never forget the ultimate Price he paid! Prayers and Thoughts for the Zook Family.

Shared Ian's story with our Junior Church this morning. We will never forget or take for granted the lives that have been given.

We won't forget Ian.

You will never be forgotten. Taking a moment to honor you and others this veteran's day for the ultimate sacrifice in preserving our freedom.
