Not sure what to say?

On Friday night many of Ian's local friends joined at the house with Dr. Clarkson and his wife, and Jean and Anne. It was wonderful to see everyone, albeit under such sorrowful circumstances. Ian will be greatly missed. He was definitely one of the most interesting fellows I have every met in my life. One day many years ago we were down at the camp partying away, just the two of us before some others arrived. It was early spring I think. All of a sudden a hummingbird flew up right in...

My brother Drew and I enrolled at The Allendale/Columbia School and started classes there in the fall of 1978. From that day forward the Clarksons and Townsons were completely intertwined in each other’s lives.
Jean Clarkson and I became fast friends as did our brothers, Ian and Drew. Ian and Drew took it to a whole other level. They graduated together, went to college together, had a dorm room together and joined a frat together. Ian had become my brother as Jean had become my sister…and...

In the company of Ian Clarkson were some of the greatest times of my life. He had a fine spirit. I've missed him since moving away from Rochester. My condolences to the family and to all who had the pleasure of calling him friend. Ian we hardly knew ye.

My deepest sympathies go out to Professor Clarkson, Jean and Ann. Ian was a true friend and brother to me in our younger days. I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Ian, I will never forget you and all the good times we had, buddy. Good times! The best of times...
I wrote a rememberance of Ian on my blog, which all are welcome to read at http://www.drew-who.com

Very sad to hear of Ian's passing. He was such an easy-going person to be around. Very considerate, a fun risk-taker, a bright and gifted person, easy to get laughing - and a great laugh at that. I will celebrate his life Friday evening as will others in Rochester and beyond.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

To the Clarkson Family,

I am the husband of my late wife Wendy Schopfer that went to college with Ian.

I was so shocked to hear about Ian today. I remember meeting him at Graig's wedding and then hanging out with him camping at Cayuga Lake the next day. He was such a nice guy.

I'm sorry for your loss.

We are very saddened to hear this news. Ian was a good friend and brother through the years at Wittenberg and when we lived in Rochester and I was working at the University.

Our heart felt condolences to the Clarkson family.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ian. We had a lot of fun hanging out back when we lived in Rochester after graduating from college. My deepest condolences go to his family.
