Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ian, at 57 years of age.

Predeceased by his parents, James and Edith Gallagher and brother, Tim.

He is survived by Heather, his loving wife of 36 years, daughters, Trina Holcombe (Mardi) and Erin Diaz (Ulises); grandchildren: Carmen, Raya and Dean Holcombe and Marcus Quijada. Ian is also survived by his sisters: Karan, Julie and Elaine, brother, Jamie and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Ian was born in Birkenhead, England, on April 14, 1955. He moved to Canada with his family at the age of 12 and immediately fell in love with the forests and the ocean, a passion he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Ian worked for many years in the forest industry. He was employed at Coulson's Manufacturing Ltd. Ian loved fishing, camping, hiking in the mountains and being with his family, especially his grandchildren who adored him. He loved hockey, soccer, astronomy, music and his dogs.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at Alberni Valley Memorial Gardens. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting: www.chapelofmemories.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ian's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
