Dear Mai-Lon, today I read your condolences for Immo and was saddened to find that you too have lost your beautiful Marc. He was such a figure, at UCSD and in Del Mar. I began to notice Marc as I passed the Morrison room of the Doe Library at Cal. This was the late fifties, my undergraduate years. Marc's inviting warmth drew me into his library and we became friends. Kind, eager, funny and wise he exemplified for me the possibility of a fine career of service in an academic library. He encouraged me so I entered the graduate program in librarianship at Cal. Later our relationship became collegial as we both became undergraduate library directors, Marc...

I met Marc through Mai Lon. I was privileged to be one of his care givers. I thought of him as a friend. Such a nice man, and a great family man , great sense of humor. I miss him. Picture was taken at his birthday party last year.
