Dear Chasely,

I learned about Mac's passing and wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the family. I want you to know this man had a great influence on my life. Both of you took me into your home as your American son and extended the love and support that truly made me feel part of your family. To this day I feel I am an extension of the MacDiramids, even though I live about 9,000 miles away.

I still have the elastic side boots and Queensland country...
