Dear Dr. and Mrs. Mattingly,
My name is Susan Bolen, and I was in one of Dr. Mattingly's Instructional Supervision classes at UGA. While meeting with Dr. Zepeda last week, I learned of the death of your eldest son. I am so sorry to hear this news. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mike and Sally,
I don't know if you remember this, Mike, but when Ian was starting in the 9th grade, it was at WRHS and my son, Noah, also was starting in the 9th grade. You and Ian came over and sat down next to me and you introduced me to him. He and I talked about how cool it was starting high school and my son, Noah, had already let me know that he would help Ian around anyway he could. I shared this with Ian and he had the sweetest grin on his face....this will always be...

Dr. and Mrs. Mattingly....
It is with a heavy heart that I write this because I am sure that you both know that Ian really touched my heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and yours as you not only morn the loss of your son, but also celebrate the life of a wonderful young man. Ian will be missed by us all, but I am thankful for the memories of him that I will forever cherish. Alicia M. Jackson - TVI - Georgia Academy for the Blind.
