Not sure what to say?

I worked with Ian as the staff person when he was chair for CRESCENDO, the all volunteer business support group for the Oregon Symphony from 1988-92. From the very day I recruited him for the group I knew fir certain that I’d found the perfect individual to help lead the group. He was outstanding in that role and a joy to work with. I’m late with this post, but know Ian wouldn’t mind one bit.

From the Board and staff of NOAH, and from all of the residents of the affordable housing financed by NOAH, we would like to Thank You for helping to form our organization in 1990.
Our thoughts are with the McKechnie family during this difficult time.

Donna and family so sorry to hear of Ian's passing. You are in my thoughts.

You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was always struck by Ian's professionalism and keen eye for the financials when I worked with him at the Benj Franklin. He was indeed the consumate gentleman and I know he will be missed greatly. Our prayers will be with his family.

I worked for Ian when he was Chair of the State Housing Council -- a governor-appointed board that created low-income housing policy for the Sate of Oregon. Working for Ian changed my life. He taught me so much that I apply every single day. He was a model of intergrity, compassion, strength and accomplishment. He was kind and witty and absolutely brilliant. I think of him often in my work, and quote him to my staff to this day. My heart goes out to Donna and his sons.

Ian was terrific to work for. He helped me out when I was going thru a difficult time in my life with compassion and uplifting words. That is how I will remember this caring man.

I enjoyed very much working with Ian. We became good friends when Benj. went public and we traveled together to assist in selling stock. Our thoughts are with the family.
