I was shocked to hear of Ian Tyson´s passing. Being a old Hippie Albertan he has been a part of my musical life for many, many years. A wonderful inspiring artist with deep, permanent Canadian/Alberta/True Cowboy Roots. I´m so sad he is gone and grateful for his music. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my respect and feelings of loss.

wonderful folk musician. On a par with Alex Campbell.
Katie and the Navajo Rug did it for me. Played on a Canadian Air flight to UK too many years ago.
I'm a Montana girl from Great Falls. Charlie Russell a great western artist.
Thanks for all the great songs.
Will be forever on my mind.

Probably about 1970 when I first heard Ian & Sylvia. Bought all those old Vanguard albums. From then until Ian passed recently and probably until I reach my own fate I’ll be hooked. In fact I’m watching him on you tube right now at the Cowboy Festival in Elko. Hard to believe he’s gone. But he’s still there I think in the wind that blows over the vast Alberta prairie. Rest in peace sir.

A Legend and a cowboy, he is going to be missed. I had the privilege of seeing him preform 3 times, the last time he sang solo the last song it from the Wizard of Oz.
“Some where over the Rainbow” he still had his amazing voice. God Bless him for the good and long life he had.
