Not sure what to say?

Dear Celine, Yasmeen and Karim. You know Dr. Ibrahim was very dear to me. In the last few years I did not want to disturb him in my visits to Norther Virginia. I checked with Georgetwon University in 2023 about Dr. Ibrahim health and I was told by the chairman he was OK. Sadly, few weeks ago I wanted to check a publication of Dr. Ibrahim to include it in a paper that I authored recently, and I learned with the sad news of Nov. 27, 2023. Dr. Ibrahim was my mentor in Economics. He saw the meit...

Single Memorial Tree

I have just heard the sad news of the passing of my mentor, teacher and friend Dr. Ibrahim Oweiss. He taught me at Georgetown University and was my advisor whilst studying there and remained my teacher and advisor whenever I needed him thereafter. I last saw him at his home in 2015 when I visited the United States, and I shall always cherish the privilege of knowing him and learning from him. We have lost a true scholar and a pillar of education and humanity. My heartfelt condolences to Mrs....

Professor Oweiss will be truly missed. I remember him fondly from my time as a student at Georgetown. It was inspiring times for fellow Egyptians during the Arab spring, and professor Oweiss was there with so much wisdom and guidance for the young Egyptian students. While our acquaintance was brief, he has left a...

Single Memorial Tree

Irreplaceable icon of Economics and Social Sciences, Dr. Ibrahim Oweis has been a "model" in every life aspect that people including me were eager to mimic! Despite his great achievements and rank, he was So Modest and would talk to ALL people irrespective of their stand with a big cheerful smile and would not hesitate to help them if it is in his power to do that! I pray to God Almighty to shower him with His Blessings and elevate his rank to the Highest

I will never forget my classes with him at Georgetown, our discussions, dinners and everything else with Dr. Owens´s. He was a mentor and source of utmost inspiration and respect for so many. As a fellow Egyptian, he made us all so very proud. He will be missed but his legacy will live on.

Revered teacher and mentor. Beloved friend. May the soul of Dr. Ibrahim rest in the arms of Abraham. To Celine, Yasmeen, and Kareem and family, my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy. Thomas Neale, Georgetown Class of 1969, Washington, DC.
