Ida Jeffers

1928 - 2021

Ida "Boo" Jeffers passed away October 6, 2021 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old. Boo was born on March 24, 1928 near New Roads and moved to Baton Rouge at the age of 14. She graduate from Baton Rouge High School. After high school Boo attended cosmetology school. While working as a hairdresser at a shop owned by Lucille Begue she was introduced to Lucille's brother, C.L. "Buddy" Jeffers. Buddy was the love of her life. They were married for 59 years before his death in 2008. They loved to cook, fish, and travel in their camper especially with family. When Boo was not otherwise occupied she liked to sew, create beautiful cross stitch pieces and read. After being an at-home wife and mother for 20 years, Boo went back to work for City Parish, Field Engineering Division for the next 20 years until retirement. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Alphonsus Church for almost 50 years. Boo's sweet smile, gentle spirit and kindness will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by her loving husband C.L. "Buddy" "Jeff" Jeffers, daughter Terri Jeffers and son Jeff Jeffers; parents, Philibert and Jeanne Lejeune Philippe; sisters Eve Hidalgo, Edna Thibodeaux, Odette Orillion and Ann Blanchard. Survived by daughters Brenda Odom, Patti Guedry (Stan), and Cindy Delaughter (Glynn); grandchildren Damon Deville, Brandi Austin, Jeff Jeffers Jr., Sherri Guedry, LeeAnn Guedry, Sarah Jeffers and Rae Pecue; 8 great grandchildren; and sister Rosemary Smith. Pall Bearers: Stan Guedry, Glynn Delaughter, LeeAnn Guedry, Bailey Mitchell, Billy Pecue and Josh Austin Funeral services will be held at St. Alphonsus Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Road, Greenwell Springs, Louisiana 70739, Friday, October 15, 2021, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and a Mass following at 11:00 am. Masks will be required for the indoor service. Immediately after Mass, internment will be at Greenoaks Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow. More information will be available at the service.
