I only met Ida a little over a year ago. Despite the limitations of her health, she enjoyed being read stories from Sholom Aleichem. She especially liked to talk about her time at Shaare Emeth and the many students she had. I count myself among those students. During our time together Ida taught me many things: the value of a smile and the excitement of teaching. One of my special memories was when Ida taught me some Yiddish songs. My condolences to her family.

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Stack. I met her more than 50 years ago - she was the music teacher at Shaare Emeth Religious School and I was a student. Mrs. Stack was always energetic, enthusiastic and happy. She always had a radiant smile. And, believe it or not, I taught my children "Bake A Matzah Pat Pat Pat", "To the Sukkah I Will Bring" and "Make Charoset Chop Chop Chop" and we still sing those songs on the holidays. Mrs. Stack was truly an amazing woman who influenced many, many people. My condolences to her family - may she rest in peace.

Ida played a big role in making Camp Ben Frankel a wonderful Jewish experiece for my five children. As a Southern Illinois Jewish Federation Board member I had the pleasure of spending a day at camp and seeing Ida singing and dancing with the campers. They all loved her stories and the way she made learning Hebrew fun. She taught adult Hebrew and Yiddush for Central Agency for Jewish Education for many years and helped make prayer service more meaningful for so many adults. She was truly a blessing for all those who came in touch with her.

Ida was my stimulating fourth grade Sunday School teacher, my thoughtful friend when we both taught Sunday School, and the wonderful Hebrew teacher of both of my children. During all of that time she was always warm, eager to share her love of Judaism to all she came in contact with. Many, many, many of us will never forget her. My deepest sympathy to her family.

My sincere sympathy goes to Ida's family. I have wonderful memories of Ida (and Norm) from my summers at Camp Ben Frankel starting when I was 6 years old. She will always be in my heart. May her memory be a blessing as it is to me.

I am so sorry to hear of Ida's passing. She was my Hebrew teacher when I feverishly preparing for my Bar Mitzvah, and I can attest from personal experience that she combined a sense of humor with the patience of a saint. It's very much apparent from the other notices online that she touched not only my life but many, many others.

Ida is nearly as prominent in my childhood memories as my own parents. At age 6, my first summer at Camp Ben Frankel, her bunk was literally in my entryway! For 13 years to follow, she was central to my favorite time of the year. From her 5-minute Yiddish lesson to her joy and love of life, she will live on in the stories I tell for as long as I can tell them.
My condolences, and mazel tov to Ida for a life well-lived.

Mrs. Stack was my Hebrew school teacher and the Hebrew school teacher of many of my friends and family members. My sister and I are also Alums of her Ben Frankel Camp program. I remember that she never missed a single day of class. One day, she got a ride with a classmate who's family just purchased a new car. She instantly burst into a verse of the Shehekianu! Ida Stack was full of energy and just a delight. Remembering her fondly.
