Ida Elizabeth Taylor, 96, passed away October 9, 2024, at Silver Oaks Health and Rehab in Camden, AR. “Ida Beth” was born March 14, 1928, in Gray, OK to Ralph Hurley Raymer and Vera Ferguson. She had three younger sisters, Iona, Gertrude and Lurline. Lurline preceded her in death. Surviving sisters are Iona Myers of Metarie, LA and Viola Gertrude Lanham of Safford, AZ. Ida Beth graduated from Rosepine High School and attended College at Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK and Frank Phillips College, later in life, in Borger, TX. She married James Virgil Taylor and they devoted their lives to the Church of the Nazarene Ministry for 42 years, serving churches in Louisiana, Texas and Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007.
She is survived by three children, David Alan (Gloria), Robert Dean (Sheri) and Roberta Dianne (George). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She loved gardening and was a lover of all animals and especially enjoyed the company of her dog, Buddy, and her cat, Sammy. She will be especially remembered for her deep religious convictions and her dedication to family and church.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the staff of Silver Oaks Health and Rehab for their superb care, and to her special friend Cindy Childs, whom she considered another daughter.
Visitation will be 4:00-6:00PM Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Proctor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 10:00AM Monday, October 14, 2024, at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside service will be 2:00PM at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA.
