Not sure what to say?

Ilan and I knew each other throughout junior high, high school and college. He and I had the lead roles in The Boyfriend in JHS 62. At Brooklyn College we provided the music for a production of Spoon River Anthology. We also participated in cabaret nights at BC, and did local performances as well.
We had lost contact over the years, but something made me look him up just now. I am saddened to hear of his death, and wish I had reached out sooner. My most sincere condolences to his wife...

Sang with Ilan in the New Jersey Cantors Concert Ensemble. A true gentleman, and a pleasure to know. Always cheerful, always pleasant. Down to Earth nice person.

There are no words to describe how saddened I was to learn about the passing of Ilan. We met serving as co-adjudicators of a competition at the JCC of Middlesex County, Edison, New Jersey.. He subsequently attended the debut concert of my Trio Hallilkinor held there. His warmth and enthusiasm for music and life was very special. Shalom Chaver - May you rest in eternal peace. Miriam Lynn Nelson

From one NJ Rockstar to another, it's just seems appropriate that this beautiful rendition sends you off to Rest In Peace. Cantor.... May your soul continue to rise to the highest of plains.

Singing provides a true sense of lightheartedness. If I sing when I am alone, I feel wonderful. It's freedom. Andrea Bocelli

I'll always remember Ilan fondly and forever miss his beautiful OM in our yoga class. He had a kind heart and wonderful energy.

So sorry to hear about Ilan. He was a gifted artist and had such boundless energy that it's difficult to believe he's gone. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Ilan brought liturgical Judaism to life. He took the ancient words known to us since childhood and changed them from black and white to full color opening up their beauty and meaning to all who were lucky enough to have experienced his genius. He was kind and approachable. What a terrible loss. Deborah Bunim

When I think of my own sense of Judaism, I think of Cantor Mamber, the guitar slung over his shoulder, his knuckle adding the percussion in beautiful rhythm against his strumming, and that wonderfully deep voice singing out words that he treasured.

It's been about twenty-five years since my Bat Mitzvah, but I hear Cantor Mamber's voice all the time. Years ago, I digitized the tapes he made for our family, now decades ago, and he lights up our home every year, especially around...

I will remember Ilan for his kindnesses, for his passionate singing and his crazy guitar skills. I will miss him tremendously. He was a very special person and there is no one like him. Hamakom yenachem...
