Not sure what to say?

Dear Bill and Boinee: I taught Ilana's brother to play bass. I knew from both Gita and Ilana that he should be able to follow in their footsteps and play well. Besides, I needed my own personally trained bass guitar player. Even lent him a crappy bass to get started ( never saw it again ). But shortly theerafter he was in a band - Kindred I started and he had a record contract but it took his admiration of his sister and mother to make it happen. Ilana was a great influence on her brother and...

I just learned of Ilana's passing over a year ago! - and am so saddened by this very belated news. Ilana was my collaborator on some wonderful recitals, a great and passionate musician, and a very dear and wonderfully supportive friend. It will never be the same playing with anyone else.

I was sorry to hear about Ilana's passing. I credit her with helping me develop into the musician I am today.

I am very sorry to hear of Ilana's passing. She was my piano teacher, and I learned much about accompanying from her. She was very kind and funny. Even though I hadn't seen her in years, her memory has lived on in my family, as my children learn music. May she rest in peace.

I am so saddened by Ilana's passing, but she will live on in my heart. My husband and I met Ilana on a cruise to Mexico in 2005. We were tablemates with Ilana and Teresa and we all had so much fun at the dining table every evening. We also had the best table in the dining room, right next to the huge back window looking out at sea. After the cruise we kept up correspondence thru email, and I grew to appreciate Ilana's humor, kindness, and appreciation of music. I don't know a thing...

I just heard about Ilana's passing. I am saddened and remember our concerts together fondly. She was wonderful to collaborate with, giving as a musician and detailed in making wonderful music.

I miss her very much. My condolences to Bill

Dear Bill,
I just recently heard of Ilana's passing. I will always remember the concerts that we played together. She was always wonderful person to collaborate with,so giving and always one who wanted and achieved musical excellence.

I wish you and your family the best.

I first met Ilana as a student at UCSD. She was teaching the piano class, and saw I was struggling. She offered me a free private lesson and encouraged me not to give up. Years later she also helped my daughter Elizabeth, who has since passed away. Ilana was one of the most thoughtful and courageous people people we have ever met, and I'll always treasure the Snoopy she gave Elizabeth :)

Rest in peace, Ilana. And thank you for having been such an inspiration for so many of us.
