Ilene B. Harris

Ilene Harris was my boss at the University of Minnesota Medical School for many years where she started and ran their faculty development program. I will always think of her as "THE GIVING TREE" since she gave so generously of her time both to other faculty, students and staff. She was a true mentor to all of us I had the privilege to stay with her and Morty at their fabulous condo in Chicago a couple of times. I will keep Ilene's memory in my heart forever.

Ilene and I were colleagues at the University of Illinois at Chicago. We co-coordinated our joint PhD in program in Curriculum Studies with Emphasis in Health Education. Over the last four years she became a significant mentor and friend for me. Teaching with such an exceptional educator helped me see new possibilities for how we ought to be in higher education.
