I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Maurice, but have his marine charts from the 1970s on, used on his yacht Nicephore. It is good to have found out something about him.

My son and I knew Maurice for over 10 years. He had a variety of interests and was always learning something new. He spoke many languages, had built a Cross Trimirand in France and sailed, solely, for 5 years before settling in Canada. Photography, a strong passion, fuelled his desire to have a photo & camera store in France after leaving the merchant marine/cruise ships. His job at Trites Marine in Richmond BC allowed him to once again be near the water. He developed a superior form of "Trites Putty" which was sold quite widely. He always spoke highly of family in France and his many friends the world over. Though he chose to be alone he said he didn't feel lonely.
