I remember when Leo joined our class in High School. In the Portuguese language class Mr. Almeida sat Leo right next to me. He spoke heavily accented English, but he was understandable, and his intelligence soon became noticeable. Little did I realize that Leo was to rise to a pinnacle during high school and later in life. In 1963 Leo married one of our prettiest classmates, Barbara Barboza. I was in the military and spent much of that year overseas, but I kept in touch with the news...
