Not sure what to say?

Broaddus and Joseph, I was too ill to attend Imre Jo's funeral but am so very sorry for your loss. While we were cousins, we rarely saw each other as I lived in New England, but I knew what was going on in her life from time to time. Those memories I do have are of a warm and very loving woman. God bless you all at this time. Lynn Cooper Hutton

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
Mrs.Shively was a teacher of mine, and I have fond memeories of her,as I am sure do many of students. She was a gifted teacher.

Barbara & Family,
I grew up with you & I'm really sorry to hear about Imre Jo. My prayers are with you all. God be with you & comfort you.

This world has just lost the truest Southern Lady. I absolutely fell in love with Jo and Broaddus when cancer brought us together. I have given Jo many treatments, of which, she never complained of the complications of her illness. I could sit and listen to her talk about her travels, her family, her friends, her life, for hours and hours and never grow tired of that voice. I send my deepest condolences and my truest appreciation for what this world is missing...more people like Jo.

To the Shively family - God be with you. I had Mrs. Shively as a teacher & she taught with my mother (Bertha Gruver). I also had the honor of visiting her as the Hospice Vol. Coor. She was an amazing woman & a joy to be around! I so regret that we won't be there for the memorial service - my husband is recovering from a stay in the hospital this week- I'm sure it will be just so Jo !! We remember you in our prayers.
In Christ,
Sarah Poland

What an amazing woman and marvelous Grandmother to Landon. Our deepest sympathy.

I had Mrs. Shively over 20 years ago at the Franklin Co. High school. She was always one of my favorite teachers. I remembered her always smiling. Her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Jo Shively's passing was a tremendous loss for our community, and my prayers and sympathy go out to her family and to all of those she inspired. She was a lion in the local Democratic Party possessed of a servant's heart, who dedicated her life to confronting injustices around her and working to bring about a better world. Even as her health was fading, she insisted on helping out with our campaign, making phone calls and being part of our Steering Committee. Her spirit will remain with us,...

I was introducted to Jo through Mary Arrington when she asked me to paint a watercolor painting of 'Pooh' for her grandson's room. I will always remember her as a warm and caring person that was a pleasure to talk with.
My deepest regrets to you at this time of grief.
