On the night of April 13th 2016, Inger Black Conwell passed away at her home with her husband Rod. Inger was born in the city of Birmingham in Jefferson County, AL on December 31, 1965.
Inger started her younger years at Council Elementary school. She went on to attend Jackson Olin High school where she was Captain of the cheerleading squad, Homecoming Queen, a member of the track team. She completed graduation in 1983. She continued her education by doing two years at Jacksonville State and Booker T. Washington where she completed her associate's degree. But she was determined to finish what she started, so she went back to school and completed her Bachelor's degree in business from Faulkner University in 2013.
Inger was a hard-working and devoted employee at State Farm Insurance for over 20 years. She was baptized at First Baptist Ensley on August 12, 1974. She was also a member of, and a servant in several ministries at the Guiding Light church for over 10 years.
Inger was a bright and shining star to so many people. Her genuine spirit and beautiful smile warmed the hearts of EVERYONE she was connected to.
Inger leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted & loving husband Roderick Conwell, Sr.; one daughter Loreal Jones of Huntsville, Alabama; one son Roderick Conwell, Jr.; mother, Elmira Odom; father, Joseph Black; one brother, Rev. Tony Black (Rosalind); one sister, Rosalynn (Henry); step-father James Odom; step-sister, Chantrice (Christopher) all of Birmingham, Alabama; one aunt, Celeste Felious (Joshua) of Charlotte, North Caroline; one great aunt, Carrie Jordan; three uncles, Otis Black, Washington, DC.; Anthony Black (Barbara) of White Plains, Maryland; Lonnie Black (Pamela) of Chicago, Illinois; mother-in-law, Catherine Conwell; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Conwell, Tiajuana Rembert; one brother-in-law, Charles Conwell (Linda); and a host of nieces, one-great-niece, nephews, cousins and others relatives and friends.

Wow, this is very sad because I found long after the fact. Mrs. Conwell was a sweet, sweet lady. I met her through her husband which is a great Man of God. I will miss running into her at Belk's and Macy's in Trussville and the Galleria. Someone told me about this, I just didn't want to believe it. May the Lord comfort you all Rod, Rod Jr, Baby Girl, parents, siblings, other family members, and friends. I apologize for your loss and God Bless each of you.... In Christ. ... Dawncember Willis...

The loss of a loved one is never easy, but the precious memories of them will forever live in your hearts. Sometimes it's not the time spent in this life, but more importantly, how you live this life. Hers clearly speaks for itself.
