Not sure what to say?

Dr. Agheana was the most inspiring professor I ever had--he is who I wanted to grow up and become when I was in college! I remember sitting in his Spanish 101 class back in 1980 and thinking, "One day, I'd like to learn a few languages, travel, and have a head full of stories--just like Dr. Agheana!" I ultimately succeeded in learning and teaching a few languages, I've seen more of the world than I might have imagined, and I now have a head full of stories in the event that anyone might want...

I had Professor Agheana as my teacher at Dartmouth College in the mid 70s. He was a wonderful, talented teacher and a warm human being, who helped all of his students grow up and think about the world we live in. In addition to teaching me Italian at Dartmouth, he was instrumental in my studying Political Science in Bucharest in Romania in 1976, which was one my best experiences as a student. Condoleances to his family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Ion's death. Ion and my father were great friends for many years, and were my father alive now, I believe that his heart would ache. From my family (Esther, Rodica, and Doina) to yours, we send our deepest condolences.

Profe Agheana was my first Spanish instructor when I began at Hope in 2013 and he left a lasting impression on me. Over the next few years I would run into him from time to time in the language building or walking across campus, and it was always a joyful surprise. I remember my last conversation with him in the Van Wylen library this past May just before graduating. I was excited to share with him that I had been awarded a grant to teach English in Peru for a year, and he was so excited...

I was saddened to hear the news that Professor Agheana had passed away. I had him as my French professor while at Hope College and found him to be an incredibly amazing teacher....one of my favorite throughout college. I am holding his friends and family close in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the family .. and to Pat, an old friend from the past. Roxanne Helder.

To Ion's family, sorry for your loss. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us that God is thinking thoughts of peace towards us, to give us a future and a hope, may that bring you comfort at this difficult time.
