Not sure what to say?

You all don't know me, but I grew up in Big Lake in the '50's & '60's. I was really touched when I read the article Ira wrote in the local paper this past year about his times in Big Lake & his graduating class. My brother, Willard LaDew was one of those classmates. It was very disturbing when I heard of his death. I believe God will still have him watching over all his loved ones. Be Safe! Take Care!! God Bless you all!!!

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Our heartfelt sympathy to Ira's entire family. Such a tragic loss for all of you. I always enjoyed a visit with him at the Shank Reunions in St. Charles. May the memories you hold help to ease the sadness you feel. Blessinggs, Deb (Shank) Mielke

My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family at this time of horrible tragedy and loss. I will miss seeing Ira at our Shank reunions. God's blessings and peace to each one of you.

Mom and I were planning on driving up for the funeral, but something personal has come up and we won't be able to make it. We are so sorry for your loss and express our deepest sympathy. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Hold onto the memories and may they bring you peace. God's blessings always.

My heart is heavy with the tragic and sudden loss of Ira. He treated me like "one of his girls," and always made me feel welcomed. He will sadly be missed. The Shank/Smith family has truly been a wonderful addition to my life. May you all find strength and courage from those who love you.

We were shocked to hear of Ira's death. Ira and I were classmates graduating from Big Lake High School in 1950. We played basketball together, had many good times together all through High School. Most recently we saw him at our class reunions and enjoyed his sense of humor. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
