One would be hard pressed to recall a more gentle soul. I remember Mrs. Briggs as my school principal in the early 1970's; but she was more than that. I remember that she had a way of placing her pinky finger across her lips as she listened to whatever the issue was at hand. You knew as you were speaking to her, that she was genuinely concerned, with eyes that were caring and intent. The last time that I saw her was at the little retirement reception that the school held for her- so that...

I will always have fond memories of Mrs Briggs. She was such a sweet lady. She was my principal in the early 60's. Always shared a smile and that friendly face. Even though I was very young and it was a long time ago. Thinking of Mrs Briggs will always put smile on my face.

I attended Buick elementary in the 60's as did my 8 siblings. Mrs. Briggs was a warm and loving lady who impacted all of our lives. She never missed an opportunity to make one feel special and accepted regardless of socioeconomics. We were truly blessed as Mrs. Briggs was our little angel. Much love, appreciation and respect to her family.

Your Mom was one of my favorite teachers at the old white Buick School.Always remember her smiles and curly hair and the care she showed to each of her students. She truly loved her job. Your family has been so fortunate to have her so long. You have my deepest sympathy. Former student - Doris (Morgan) Stark

Mrs. Briggs was my elementary school principal from Kindergarten through Third grade. I was very sad when she retired. She just made everyone feel good and encouraged you to do your best. I have very good memories of talking with her and wish every child could have an educator like her in their life. My thoughts are with her family on the loss of such a special person.
