RIP, Irene.

My heart aches to learn of Irene's passing. She was a good friend and neighbor of my grandmother, Shirley Rakus, who passed away in 2006. Irene and Chuck were there for my family when she died, and I will never forget their kindness. I enjoyed spending time around Irene whenever I visited family in Springfield. I gravitated towards her energy and genuine compassion, and loved the way she told stories. Thank you for everything, Irene. You were there for me during a very difficult time in my...

Padi arrives! Chuck and Irene are at the front door!!

My best years in the world of museums occured at the Museum of Fine Arts, and the G.W.V.S. All of the creativity
and creative times happened then. Irene and Chuck were part of that magic carpet ride. I was saddened to hear that Irene had walked on. The memories of Padihershef, and the great times spent with her and Chuck. Chuck and John Strozzi shared my birthday, which we would celebrate together when we could. So many of my collegues have left us, and I am so grateful to have worked in...

I am so very sorry for your loss. I have many happy memories - delicious dinners, sledding and hot chocolate, fun at the beach - and woven through it all her warmth and smiles. It was always wonderful to be with her. My sincere condolences. Mark Dragone

One of the truly loveliest women I have had the pleasure to meet. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel not just welcome, but that their presence was important and of great interest to her. Although I did not know her well, she had a very positive impact on me. Deepest sympathy to her beloved Chuck and family.

I just found out today, That Irene had passed. Thank you for sharing her last moments with us all. There is nothing more beautiful then hearing about a family coming together to help their loved one pass to the next plane surrounded by the loving arms of her family. I think it is wonderful that you all sang around her at the time of her transition to the other side.
Death is a part of life and we should not be afraid to share that moment(hours, days, weeks, months) with that person...
