I knew Irene as a D.A.R. sister. She touched my life. The first time I sent her a card, I wrote, "I was going to send you a penny postcard until I learned the cost was 28 cents. So I'll just send this card first class. Afterall, you are a first class lady in my opinion." Additional cards I sent her, she would jokingly tell me she enjoyed my penny postcards. I will miss her.
