Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Irene's family and friends. I knew Irene as Mrs. Constantine when she taught me in the 5th grade (1957-1958) at Maury Elementary School in Fredericksburg, VA. I still have a sad memory of her becoming upset when she was informed that her first husband George suffered a heart problem. I just recently learned that he died in 1958 during heart surgery, having been married just two years.

My mother, Penelope Vavadelis Ambrose, was so sad to hear the news about Irene. My mom has wonderful memories of the time when all the cousins lived together. Wish we closer so that we could have attended the service for Irene. Saying prayers for the family.

Pela and Dwight Jenkins My condolences to your family. I met Irene many years ago when she was dating George . I worked with him. Plus I've known Pela and Dwight for years. They are a lovely family. Sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I didn't realize Irene was living at Harbor's Edge. I moved to Harbor's Edge going on two years. God Bless Gloria J. Carter sorry for your loss.

I was so sorry to read about Mrs. Mathas´s passing. She was such a lovely and kind person, but I had no idea of her many accomplishments! Wow! All those years in the choir, her teaching career, overcoming her grief twice! Mrs. Mathas made Hunters Trail a better place and she was very much missed by my parents after she moved. I know mom loved seeing her again at Harbors Edge! Please accept my deepest sympathies, Jody Canoles Benedict

Irene was a lovely and kind neighbor in the late 1960s, a treasured Algebra tutor and sister Mary Washington alumna. She made life brighter. My deepest condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace with Tim. Ann Gowen

I met Irene when she moved to Harbor's Edge; I warned her about the likelihood of our names being confused because they were only one letter apart. We became friends and enjoyed dinner together many times; she was a very gentle soul and was so proud of her family. She will be missed.

What a beautiful lady, quite a lady. She was my math teacher at Northside, Ms. Constantine as the years passed I was quite surprised to meet my granddaughters algebra teacher at Norview Ms. Mathas. Her name had changed but that was the only change she was truly beautiful inside and out. The teacher you never forget. Love & blessings to her family & friends.
