Irene Copada Moyer

Irene passed away peacefully on March 31, surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born in Llorente Eastern Samar, Philippines, to Candida Lacre and Braulio Copada. She grew up in Balangkayan Eastern Samar with 7 brothers and sisters. She met her husband, Donald Moyer, in Manila while he was stationed in the Philippines with the Navy. They were married in March 1961, moving to the U.S. shortly after they were married. They were happily married for nearly 54 years. She worked for over 20 years at Harrison Memorial Hospital before retiring. Irene was very active in the Filipino community, volunteering many hours of her time in the community. Irene was kind, good-natured, generous, straightforward, and very stubborn. She was loved very much by her family and her many friends. She will be greatly missed. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Don, her mother and father Candida and Braulio, her sisters Gregoria, Rosila, Serila, and Anya, and her brothers Antonio, Felix, and Artemio. Irene is survived by her son Wil (JoAnn), daughter Elisa, grandsons Jimmy (Jerilyn), Michael (Jenny), Daniel (Elizabeth), Joshua (Jolene), granddaughter Rebekah and 12 great-grandchildren. Viewing to be held on April 14th from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow the viewing. A reception will be held at the funeral home after the service.
