My deepest sympathy to Irene's family. She and her father Charles were very proud of their family heritage and arranged and supported the Hammond family reunions for many years. Several years ago, she provided me with a copy of the marriage certificate of the first Hammond's to immigrate to Michigan from Kilsby, England in 1859.
