Irene M. Pouliot, 94 of Newport Center, VT, passed away on June 19th, 2018 in Brownington, VT.


 


She was born on June 27th, 1923 in Stoke, PQ to Louis and Amelia (Roy) Goupil.


 


On June 24th 1946 she married Albert Pouliot who predeceased her on November 11th, 2011.


 


Irene was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newport for many years.


 


She enjoyed her gardening, cooking, and playing cards with friends. She also made braided rugs and quilts for her children.


 


She is survived by her children: Nicole Poginy and husband Michael, Jocelyn Pouliot and wife Barabra, Clement Pouliot, Yvon Pouliot and wife Melanie, Suzanne Coggeshall and husband Robert, JoanneAllen and husband Danny.


Her grandchildren Brandon Poginy and wife Alicia, Nicholas Poginy, Aaron Pouliot and wife Meghan, Amber Pouliot, Matthew Pouliot and wife Megan, Megan Pouliot, Dillon Pouliot, Lee Allen, Chantal Allen and by 10 great grandchildren.


 


She is also survived by her siblings:  Her sister Rose and husband Emilien Begin, her brothers Rene, Lionel, Denis and wife Bibiane all of Sherbrooke, PQ, he sister-in-law Irene Goupil of Manchester, NH, and Carmen Beaudin of Sherbrooke.


 


Besides her husband Albert, she was also predeceased by her son Laurent Pouliot on April 8th, 2014, her brothers Leonard, Paul-Emile, Paul-Eugene, her sisters Jeanne and Aurore.


 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at 11:00Am at the St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newport, VT.


 


Interment will follow in the St, Mary’s Cemetery in Newport.


 


Friends may call at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home located at 37 Lake Road in Newport on Saturday June 23rd 2018 from 9:00-10:30am.
