RICHARDSON, Mrs. Irene "Virginia" Lewis, of Richmond, departed this life November 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis C. Richardson. She is survived by one son, Michael Richardson; one daughter- in-law, Margaret Richardson; two grandsons, Christopher Michael and Marcus Joel Richardson; five sisters, Beulah Prentis, Jean Burrell, Robinette Peebles, Charlene Lewis and Mildred Hunt; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, among them devoted niece and caregiver, Charlotte Harris; two brothers-in-law, William C. Belton Sr. and Robert Peebles; and other relatives and friends, among them two devoted, Margaret Carter and Herman Robertson. Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Funeral services will be held Friday, 1 p.m., at Riverview Baptist Church, 2604 Idlewood Avenue, where remains will lie in state one hour prior to funeral time. Dr. Stephen Hewlett, pastor, officiating. Interment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Family and friends please assemble at the church at 12:45 p.m. Friday.
