My deepest condolences to one of the all time best families I ever had the privilege of knowing over the past 40+ years. Irene was the quiet rock of the family, so generous in spirit and always giving away the limelight to every one else. Always understating her own qualities, Irene is the kind of individual that you only later realize her incredible unselfishness in listening and focusing on others - this was a most magnanimous gift of hers. Rhine, Reuel and Rhea, my love to you all. Naomi...

Dear Rhea,
Your Mom was so sweet. I'll always remember her kind sweet voice on the other end of the phone, when I called your house during our teenage years. She will be missed.
Her kindness and sweet way lives on in you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love,
Carrie

I never had the privilege of meeting your mother in person, Rhine, but I feel I just met her in words. Thank you for sharing so generously as you absorb her loss and celebrate her life. This sounds like such a lot of living and loving fully in her time, which so fascinates and seduces me. It seems she totally appreciated and shared the great gift of life, and I so appreciate how she has touched my life through grand and silly moments shared with you. Love.

So glad to have met Rhine's mother, Irene. She will be greatly missed by Rhea, Rheul, Rhine and others who knew her. As a son of parents from the urban Great Lakes like Rhine, I can relate to her special qualities of kindness and artistic aspiration nurtured within the context of immigrant families in large formerly great cities. Her influence on her children is apparent and greatly appreciated. I wish all the best for her family in their moment of grief.

Although I did not know the lovely and lithe Irene Ruder, I am fortunate to know her wise and kind son Rhine. How wonderful a woman she must have been to have such loving and inspiring words written about her. If we could all have the respect and admiration for our parents as Irene's kids have, we would live a most generous life.

Ms. Irene was the epitome of a Mom. She was always there for her children as they grew up, maintained a spotless home, was soft spoken and always had a positive outlook and demeanor. A very respectful family and the best neighbors that anyone would want. May she rest in peace.
