Peppler Funeral Home - Allentown Obituary

Irene Silverson, 94, of Yardville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 at her daughter’s home. Born in Trenton, she was a longtime Yardville resident.  Irene’s career included a beautician at Plain & Fanci for several years and working as an operator / accounts payable clerk at the Bordentown Reformatory for the State of New Jersey, where she eventually retired. She was a longtime member of St. Raphael’s Church and the church’s Altar Rosary Society.  Irene enjoyed being active, from joining the Hamilton 50 + club, taking up tennis after her retirement, to enjoying nature and her garden while tending to flowers and taking care of her rose bushes.  She cherished spending time with her family, hosting holiday gatherings, and cooking family recipes for loved ones. She and her husband traveled with friends to Europe and the islands, and they were especially fond of Aruba, where visited each November. She was lucky to spend family vacations with her grandchildren in the Outer Banks and Florida.

Daughter of the late John and Veronica Kramarz, she was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Donald J. Silverson, her son-in-law, Thomas Smith, and by her seven siblings.  Irene is survived by her son Donald Silverson and his wife, Kathleen Holz; her daughter, Gail Smith; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Silverson (Eloise Melzer), Nicholas Silverson, Zachary Smith (Amanda Gochee), Jacquelyn Smith, and Brandon Smith; her great grandchildren, Isadora and Sylvan Silverson; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday November 22nd at 10:30am at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 S. Broad St. Hamilton.  Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown starting at 12:30pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Irene’s name to St. Raphael’s Church Alter Rosary Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown.

Not sure what to say?

Irene was absolutely lovely...one of the kindest people I've ever known. The sweetest. My grandmother, Betty who was her neighbor just adored her and I as well.

Sorry to hear of Irene's passing; she was such a good neighbor and friend to our whole family.
