Irene Emilia Weireter, 90, of Lakewood passed away Monday, November 19, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Spangler, PA, lived in Long Island, NY before moving to Lakewood 18 years ago. She was a communicant of St. Dominic's Church. Irene was very active in St. Dominic RCIA, and she had produced a number of plays for them as well.
Irene is predeceased by her two brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph Kozak and his wife Loretta, and Jacob Kozak and his wife Helen, and three sisters and brothers-in-law Mary Gosselink and her husband Fred, Ann Philipp and her husband Joseph, and Theresa Danek. Also predeceased are her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Steve Mannie, Donna Blasko, Jim Fusco, Charles Sullivan, and Paul Weireter and his wife Rose.
Irene is survived by her husband Edward M. Weireter and her sister Patricia Mannie. Also surviving are other family members, Edward Blasko, Regina Sullivan Fusco, Dorothy Sullivan, and Joan Duffy and her husband John.
Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018, from 4:00- 7:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88, Brick, NJ. A funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic's RC Church, Brick. Committal will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Toms River.
