Iris J. Atkinson

Iris J. Atkinson, 97, born on June 2nd, 1924 and passed away peacefully on November 15, 2021.  Iris worked as a telephone operator during WW2 in London England, married, had 2 sons then moved to Canada, where her last son was born and then shortly after the family moved to Indiana where she stayed til her death. She was a stay at home mother who loved her family greatly, was an exceptional cook and gardener, and loved cats. Iris was a joyful soul who enjoyed a visit and always had a cup of tea and a great story waiting for you when you arrived.     

 Iris was a strong, loving, and caring woman and was loved by many.  Iris is survived by her children, Nicholas (Summera) Atkinson, Howard Atkinson, and Niall (Becky) Atkinson; brother, Ian (Brenda) Fitzakerly; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Services are 3pm Monday November 29, 2021 at Conkle Funeral Home Avon-Avon IN with Visitation 1pm-3pm before the Service.
