Iris Nathalia Edinger

Mrs. Edinger was decades ahead of her time. She taught my AP US History class and I only got to learn from her for a semester before she took early retirement 1990-91. She taught us out of an older textbook with decidedly non-progressive views because it had a rich commentary--but she energetically made up for this with supplemental Howard Zinn reading materials and witty apologist humor. I have very strong positive memories of Iris. We knew her through Evan as our daughter, Jennifer, became a became a member of her family

As a student at Mulholland and then Birmingham, Mrs Edinger was always smiling, always welcoming, and a role model for teaching. As I finish year 40 of my teaching career, I thank her for her enthusiasm and drive to be the best!
