Not sure what to say?

MY condolence on Aunt Iris passing. I have great memories of Aunt Iris growing up. And I do agree that she was a strong and independent woman well ahead of her generation. One look could put all of us kids in our place at the many Mercurio family gatherings. I never learned how my Uncle Tony met Iris but he definitely won the Lottery. They were a great combination. For my very best friend, Miss Stella
I'm saddened to hear of your Aunt's passing. I remember you speaking fondly of your Uncle Tony and Aunt Iris, and I remember how close you were to them. I remember you talking about holidays centered around cooking and baking, and I was always envious of all those wonderful Italian foods that you knew how to prepare.....and from memory.

You will always treasure...

Aunt Iris was the best role model for me growing up in the 60's ....I loved her dearly...she gave me my first pair of high heels in 8th grade, taught me to type on her old manual typewriter, taught me to be independent-to be a career woman... loved staying with her and my Uncle Tony, a babysitter to my cousin Gary so many years ago...sorry that we have lost touch with the family(Laurie and Becky)....we were all so close when we were growing up...I have some great pictures of her when she...

Though I never had the opportunity to meet Iris, I love her so for the joy and dedication she gave to her beautiful granddaughter Rebecca, my dearest friend, and her mother Laurie, for whom I will always admire and adore. Peace, Iris. Peace.

May the love of friends and family carry you through this trying time. Iris and I were neighbors as well as friends.

Iris, thank you for being a strong woman. In doing so you help to form a strong and caring granddaughter. That woman Rebecca is a dear friend because of those very qualities you helped to instill. Much peace.
