I'm heartbroken to know that my favorite teacher has passed. I saw her about 30yrs after she taught me at Dbl. Churches Elem. I said you likely don't remember me. She say why yes I do Alice. Does your brother still call you, "Aardvark"? I really loved your mom, Karlotta.She was truly one of a kind I'm so very sorry for your loss. Mrs Caldwell was my 2nd grade teacher back in 1987. I ran into her several times throughout the years and she always remembered me. I had the pleasure of introducing her to my children as well. She had such an impact on myself and all of her students. She was an amazing teacher and woman.

Irma helped me get my start in teaching. She was already at Double Churches Elementary when I was hired. She became my mentor and my friend. She was always sweet and kind and patient with everyone and I know her students loved her. I´m blessed to have known her and been her friend. I know your sweet memories of her will bring you smiles in the days ahead. Prayers for your family.
