MACCIOMEI, Irma - Of Flushing, age 74, departed this life on Friday, April 24, 2009 at University Hospitals in Ann Arbor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at St. Roberts Catholic Church, 310 North Cherry Street, Flushing, Father Roy Horning officiating. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4142 Flushing Road. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-8PM Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to U of M Ann Arbor Department of Internal Medicine Nephrology Division or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Irma was born in Flint, Michigan on February 10, 1935, the daughter of Augustine and Soledad (Hernandez) Gonzalez. She graduated from All Saints Catholic High School. She married Elisio Macciomei in 1955. Irma was a very gentle and caring person, who loved her family dearly. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved planting her flower containers each spring and took great joy in decorating for each holiday. Irma ran her own wedding business, Weddings by Dana, for several years. She leaves to cherish in her memory, loving husband, Elisio "Eli" Macciomei; son, Renaldo (Darlene) Macciomei of Northville; 5 daughters, Valerie (Michael) Godlesky, Yvonne Sebok, Lisa (Dennis) Gray, all of Flushing, Michele (John) Wuschner of Farmington, CT and Andrea (Jason) Bescoe of Grand Blanc; 16 grandchildren, Richard Macciomei of Philadelphia, PA, Allie and Julia Macciomei of Northville, Brian Godlesky of San Diego, CA, Nick Godlesky of Sarasota, FL, Lauren Godlesky of Flushing, Brooke (Chris) Filson of Canton, Anthony Sebok of Sarasota, FL, Lindsey, Sean and Cameron Gray, all of Flushing, Antonia and Alex Wuschner of Farmington, CT, Justin, Emily and Elysa Bescoe, all of Grand Blanc; 2 sisters, Alice (Alfonso) Garza, Mireya (Robert) Mackovyak; brothers-in-law, Albert (Marion) Macciomei, Dan (Beverly) Macciomei and Leonard Guerra; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Irma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert Gonzalez; sister, Lucy Guerra; niece, Terry; nephews, David and Matthew; as well as sister-in-law, Sophie Macciomei; brothers-in-law, Walter and Gino Macciomei and Albert Garza.
