Irvin Schatz

Irv was a great dad to his children, a kind person and always great to talk to, besides being an excellent basket maker Bill Phillips, 1st cousin to Chris and Roger.

I remember the door at the front of the store; it would chime when someone would enter. Irvin worked in the back weaving baskets he´d tack while he blithely served as a mentor, But he´d drop all those tasks to come forward to ask if you needed some good or a service. His kindness shone through especially if you showed a hint of being a bit nervous. But if you had come for coffee or some conversation on Berlin Heights matters, you could sit in the back of the baskets on racks with friends...
