Not sure what to say?

I first met Mr. Dreibrodt in 1947. I was a new transfer student to Brackenridge High School. He made the transistion for a little thirteen year old girl easy for me. He will always be remembered in the hearts of his students.

I will always remember "Mr. D" from my days in the Brackenridge band in San Antonio. He was a charismatic leader who could really bring out the best in all of us. When the Brackenridge band stepped on the field, it was evident that this was no ordinary high school band, all due to "Mr. D." I will never forget him and will always remember those great days in the Brackenridge band as some of the most memorable ones of my life.

"Mr. Dreibrodt" made a very huge and wonderful impact on the life of my wife (Gloria Warner Carrier) and me as fellow band members at Brackenridge High ('48-'50). He was the greatest! We will always have fond memories of "Mr. D" The Lord has taken back a real bandsman whom we will dearly miss.

Mr. D told it like it was, was unafraid to stand up for his bandsmen, either to the SMU administration or others, and had a gift for putting on a smashing half time show or Pigskin Revue. As a freshman in 1963, I had the honor of being in his band for six years, including graduate school. Every year was an adventure and a blast. My condolences to the family. Coach lives on in our hearts.

As a member of the Mustang Band post-1983, I had the pleasure of watching Dr. Dreibrodt conduct "Varsity" during Homecoming pre-games. It was always an anticipated event. His passion for the music and his enthusiasm for our University was contagious. My sincerest condolences to the family of a visionary music leader.

I'll remember going on to the field at Alamo Stadium to the great music of the Brack Eagles band. Richard Sweet

I was in the Mustang Band in the 60's and that was a great experience for me. I think Dr. Dreibrodt was a great man, educator, and friend.

Dr.Drei was a fixture at Plano High School in the mid-sixties. As UIL marching contest came around, our band director, Emmitt Clem, would tell us that 'COACH DREI' was coming. We all knew it would be a hard day's practice, but worth every minute, especially when we would bring home that trophy

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.
