Not sure what to say?

I also just read the New Yorker article. How wonderful in troubled times to enjoy reading about a person of kindness and goodness after so much time has passed since he died. A gift

I just came across Mr. Gopnik´s New Yorker profile and a later LA Times article about Mr. Link. What a fascinating gentleman he must have been. It was a pleasure to feel I was hearing him speak. He seemed to be a legacy of both Old Beverly Hills and another time in our country. Godspeed to Irving and all who knew him or read about him.

To the family of Mr. Irving Link: Just now I finished the beautiful New Yorker article about your fabulous father. What a man, how I'd have enjoyed meeting him and basking in the same sun.....his sun of the Beverly Hills Hotel. Blessings to all his family.

I met Irving at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1984 and staying there for a long period of time, looked forward to seeing him everyday at the pool. Irving was the epitome of classic Hollywood and appeared to be a star. He had class, charm, savy, and made a comment to me years later when I saw him at the Peninsula Hotel, "I remember you were hitting the juice (champagne) really hard in those days".

I knew Mr Link for about 15 yrs I worked as a car hop at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Mr Link was the best dressed most dashing tanned man in Beverly Hills
always a gentleman.

I am sorry that weather in Chicago kept me from attending Irving's funeral. What a marvelous life Irving had. About one year ago he said to me, "Have a Long Life Michael."
He was father figure, advisor, confidant, and a friend for greater than 30 years. There will not be another like him at least in my life time. Good bye my friend, but I will see you again in Heaven.

Irving, wherever you are, whatever you're doing and whoever you're with, I know you're happy and playing cards. You made me laugh, you loved most of our cats and you always had a gentle heart, sage advice and that twinkle in your eye that bordered on mischievousness. I will never again step foot in a deli without thinking of us at Nate-n-Als after the movies. You really were one in a million and I doubt I will ever meet anyone like you again. Stay close.

I feeled honored to call Mr. Link My adupted father i Loved him like a father and friend . I know Mr. Link for the last 12 years i wish it was longer then that he will be missed by me.

We met, naturally at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the late eighties, and for several years he was what we looked forward to most about our visits. He was dashing, kind, courtly and Oh! so smart and elegant...remember the real gold pinstripe? We shared many Havana cigars, sometimes before breakfast. Fond memories, Ivor and Myra Silverstone
