Not sure what to say?

Dr. Rotherberg was an extraordinary person. I remember him fondly at AATSP New England biennial meetings. Our conversations were filled with laughter and memories. He passed away loving and loved. Irv was very active in the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP. He was editor of its flagship journal Hispania for a number of years, President in 1983 (that year our annual convention was held in Boston), creation of its newsletter Enlace, creation of the Biennial Northeast Regional Meetings of the AATSP, and contributed to many other aspects of the profession. Irv will be missed. He was a very sweet man! Marjorie Tauer

Irving and I were colleagues from 1973-76 at UMass. He was a gentle man and a gentleman with a profound interest in the mentoring of young professors. I have very fond memories of his sense of humor. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

I served on the Amherst Cable TV Committee with Irv. He was a great person and I enjoyed working with him. My condolences to his family.

Irv was a wonderful kind hearted man

What a wonderful man and such a full life. I knew Irv as the father of my best friend Adam in elementary school, and never realized that he'd done all these things. May his memory be a blessing.

Amazing life. A great citizen and neighbor in Amherst. RIP.

He was such a sweet, gentle man with a wonderful wit. A mensch. R.I.P. "Grandpa Irv." Love, Suzy Stein
