Not sure what to say?

I was hired into the Research Lab at Ford about the same time as Irv. I had a deep respect for Irv based on his intelligence, dry humor, quiet demeanor, and his overall professionalism. I am so sorry to just learn of his passing and wish his family my deepest condolences, especially Trudy. Roger Saillant

I am so sorry to learn about Irv´s sad demise. I joined Ford as a member of Irv group. Although I was transferred to another group, he remained my mentor. I was a member of Chemistry Department and had the opportunity to collaborate and publish our results in a highly sighted paper on paint recycling. His intellectual curiosity and scientific rigor was exemplary. He will be missed. Chaitanya Narula and family

We miss Irv so much at our bridge dinners and bridge. He was an intelligent, fine gentleman and friend. We will always remember Irv with love respect, admiration and love.

I'm so sorry to hear of this terrible loss. I took Irv's class at Michigan and saw him as a true mentor through the rest of my time at school. I can't express how much his generosity and encouragement shaped my path. Irv kept his office door wide open, was always willing to make time to chat with his students, and had a unique way of challenging us to dig deep on questions while also treating us as intellectual equals. I'll be thinking of our conversations for years to come, and striving to...

Our sincerest condolences and deepest sympathy to entire family. I was born on the same day as Irv, 5/28, but seven years earlier. We both joined the Ford Scientific Laboratory at about the same time but worked in different fields. Although I was never involved in the same project with him, we met very often in the hall or at various meetings. We exchanged the opinions about current events, the news about various area cultural activities and, of course, some jokes. It was always a pleasure...

Irv was a kind man and a wonderful neighbor. Chuck and I remember him fondly and our sympathy to you, Trudy, and the girls. Ruth Watts

Irv was one of the best....We met Irv and Family when the kids were involved in Summer and USA Swimming. We transported, timed, and ushered the kids at meets, etc. I also, knew Irv at Ford Engineering Center in Dearborn. He was always willing to help find an Answer on some of those Tough Question. Irv will be missed. Prayers to the Family...

Dear Trudy, Annette and Kirsten,

We were saddened to hear of Irv's passing. We remember him with delight - a charming, brilliant man with a great sense of humor, kind, compassionate and very involved in his community, and especially close to his family. May your cherished memories of Irv bring you peace.

In warm remembrance and quiet celebration of someone very special.

I loved seeing Irv and stopping to talk to him in the hallways of Weill Hall, and in classrooms as he came in and I went out (or vice versa). His course on social systems and energy was very popular with undergraduates and for many, was an entry point to majors and careers. My condolences to his family and my thanks for sharing him with us in his retirement!
