We were members of El Mesias UMC in Houston. He served in that church in the 70´s. We fondly remember Katy and the kids and Brother Gomez, the nicest kindest pastor ever. We remember him driving us in a beat up old bus to Galveston to see Brother Vega when he was sick. We now live in San Antonio and Brother Gomez came by for coffee a couple of years ago while on his way to a church celebration here. Remembrances of my good friend, Isabel: Our relationship began when he was a candidate for ordination, and I chaired the Board of Ministry. Isabel was a candidate in the early 1960s, and it was evident that he had been called to ministry. He was part of the class of elders ordained in 1965 at El Buen Samaritano in Albuquerque.
