Not sure what to say?

Just found this for the first time. What a beautiful soul this lady was. So smart and so thrilled to share her knowledge with all of us in such an engaging way. My 5 th grade teacher at Arkwright Elementary. One of my fondest memories was when she had us memorize the poem In Flanders Fields. It moved my soul. I´ve never forgotten it. Or her. She changed my life giving me a thirst for knowledge and travel near and far. Thank you Miss McLeod for changing the world one child at a time. I...

My grandparents lived across the highway from Isabel. My MawMaw and mother both told us many stories about Dr Cloud. I have memories of asking as a child when I would visit if Isabel was home. Ninety percent of the time it was No, she on another adventure.
She is on the best adventure now. Our family extends prayers and sympathy for your loss.

I am new to Facebook and just saw this. I had Ms. McLeod for two years at Arkwright Elementary School in Atlanta and she was wonderful. She inspired my love of learning and traveling. Such a great teacher.

I have wondered about Ms. McLeod. There is so much that I didn't know about her. I do know that she was a good teacher. She was a very unique woman and reading about her just proves it. Thank you, Ms. McLeod, for all you did for children!

She was my brother's 5th grade teacher as well as teaching my 5th grade years later at Arkwright Elementary

I learned more from her in one year than consecutive years in school following.

She was unique as well as a bit mysterious in that no one knew anything about her previous or personal life other than she grew up in Bay Minette Alabama. embraced at. As well as math, science, reading, writing, she emphasized teaching us Art, Conjugating English verbs...

Ms. McLeod was my 6th grade teacher and always my favorite! She was so interesting and funny, in a very eccentric form. All of the kids were mesmerized by her stories and you could see her reliving the times she spoke of. What an amazing and interesting person she was, wish I had known her as an adult.

I just saw Miss McCleod's obituary on Facebook. She was my teacher at Arkwright Elementary School in Atlanta many years ago. I never knew anything about her life. I was amazed to read about her family and all the places she has visited. She was truly a remarkable lady. I wish she had told us kids about her life. She might have tried, but fifth graders don't listen to adults very well sometimes.

Such a beautiful lady and peaceful soul. I grew up in Bay Minette and remember her well. She and her family were a true asset to our community. Each of us are blessed to have known this wonderful lady. God bless you Isabel.

I never knew her personally, but I remember seeing her walking in town and around. There was always something special about seeing her. I have wondered for a long time what happened to her. She was iconic!
