Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Sioux Falls Obituary

Isaiah Stanley Young, age 19, was born on February 6, 2004 in Daytona Beach, FL and soon arrived home to Wentworth, South Dakota with his parents Brian and Dodi Young. He passed away on January 10, 2024. Isaiah attended Madison Christian School for elementary, Chester Area School for middle school and then transferred to Sioux Falls Christian to finish out his high school career where he graduated in 2022. Isaiah attended Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, AZ for a semester before returning home to Sioux Falls.

Isaiah always enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, helping on the farm and playing sports. His football and track careers were some of his proudest accomplishments. Isaiah carried himself with a gentle demeanor and was loved and respected by his teammates, opponents and coaches alike. He was gifted in his musical abilities as well and it was a joy to hear him sing or play in the drumline at Chester. Whether it was shaping pottery, working on cars and motorcycles or laying flooring Isaiah was skilled with his hands and enjoyed working hard.  Isaiah also enjoyed video games, snowboarding and spending time with his girlfriend and friends. He was admired and loved by his nieces and nephews.

Isaiah is lovingly remembered by many family and friends including his parents Brian and Dodi Young; his siblings: Tyler (Karisa) Polzen, Jenna (Zach) Ely, Taylor (Trevor) Hornig; his girlfriend Rylee Jensen; six nieces and nephews: Gunnar, Braxton, Jolee, Trevor, June, and Jaiden; his grandparents: Weary Young and Donald and Darlene Stewart; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Isaiah is preceded in death by his Grandma Sandy Young.

Funeral services will be held at Sioux Falls Christian School on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Family will be present for visitation at Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. with a short prayer service to being at 2:45 p.m. before visitation.

Not sure what to say?

To the Young family.

Rip.
God bless you ALL

Stay Strong.

Brian, We are so sorry to hear about Isaiah. I remember well meeting him in Rapid City at the store and thought he was a wonderful respectful young man. Our condolences to you and your family. God Bless. Glen Hartson, Interstate Flooring Outlet Rapid City, SD

Brian & Dodi, Barb informed me of this this morning, typing this even though I'm at a loss for words. How can my words possibly bring you comfort or any understanding. As a father myself, I couldn't imagine going through this without my faith in Jesus Christ, even then it still seems insurmountable. Please know that I am earnestly praying for you all...

Brian and Doti, so so jsorry for your grief, the heavy load of losing your son. The immediate despair, the emptiness, the regrets, the gut wrenching groans......but through it all comes God.... Praying for you (as you did for me, thanks friend). Wow, Isaiah was special, how you loved him and bragged on him, proud father. That will continue, the relationship. Cliff

Isaiah was such a happy preschooler and always had a smile on his face! My heart goes out to you!

Isaiah—a perfect young Gentleman, gifted and talented! Always a warm smile. He will be missed by all, but never forgotten because he warmed the hearts of our family.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of your son. I do not have sufficient words to say that could possibly make this any easier for you or bring much comfort to your family. I am sorry I will be unable to attend the funeral and show your family much support. Just know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers, and I have fond memories of your entire family (watching the Superbowl at your house, the Nashville trip, watching Isaiah during various events at WCB that your family attended, all...

I will always remember Isaiah picking on Elsa and I when he was just a little kindergarten. His smile and laugh lit the room. A very sweet and loving kid. Your family is in my prayers during this time. ❤

It is difficult to know what to say at times like this. Thinking of you in prayer. Sending my deepest condolences. May the love of God hold you, strengthen you through these days and in the days that lie ahead.
