Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Obituary

Israel Daniel Bonilla 35, of Midland Texas peacefully passed away early Wednesday morning October 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born on September 24, 1986,  to Sandra Garibay and the late Israel J. Bonilla. Daniel went to Lee High School-graduated in 2005 and continued his education in San Antonio at UTSA. Daniel began his career as a mixologist and continued to work in the service industry over the years.

Daniel was a gift to many, a true joyful spirited individual with no boundaries on living his life to the fullest. He kept everyone rolling with laughter as only he could find humor in the most mundane of life circumstances. Anyone who had the privilege of meeting Daniel was touched by his kindness and humor. Daniel was an active member of the LGBTQ community, loved music (especially Lady Gaga) and loved dancing.

He is survived by his Mother Sandra Garibay, Stepfather Bobby J. Garcia, Sister Christine Sanchez, brother-in-law Larry Sanchez Jr., Nephew Larry Sanchez III, Niece Lauren Sanchez, Nephew Maximus Sanchez, Nephew Brady Sanchez, Brother Joseph Garcia, sister-in-law Nedra Garcia, Niece Ariana Garcia, Nephew Uriah Garcia, Baby Garcia; Sister Sarah Bonilla,  and his one and only child/loving pet Alejandro.

He is preceded in death by his father Israel J. Bonilla, Grandmother Evangelina Garibay

Pallbearers are Erica Carrasco, Amanda Aranda, Walter Garibay, Elizabeth Sifuentes, John Garza, Marina Garza, Larry Sanchez III and Lauren Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers are Maximus Sanchez, Ariana Garcia, Brady Sanchez, Uriah Garcia, Baby Garcia.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown

Viewing will be Friday, October 29, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish & Shrine on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10 AM.

The family would like to express their gratitude towards the nurses in the CCU at MMH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any animal shelter as Daniel had a love for dogs and all animals.
